The Library was founded by Shri Gautambhai Kantilal Choksi in the memory of his father Mr. K J Choksi. Late. Shri Kantilal Jaikishandas Choksi was a freedom Fighter, Mayor of Bharuch City and headed the local library for several years.
The primary objective of setting up the library is the promotion of reading habits among the public at large.
The trustees wish to make reading a popular hobby among students and young generation, which is influenced by a lot of other entertainment avenues. The Library is not for profit and is fully funded by Kantilal J Choksi Charitable Trust.
The library has a collection of over 45000 books in Gujarati, English, Hindi, and Marathi.
